Spring 2012 Season

Team assignments for the spring as well as practice days and times will be communicated by March 14th.  The season will start on March 26th and run through May 19th.

1 / 2 Program

Our 1 / 2 Program over the last 4 years, since its introduction, will not be much different. The clinic-like style of this program has been very successful allowing the children to move quickly through a series of drill stations, participating with their teams, mostly, learning the basics of the game, while having quite a bit of fun. As in the previous years, focus on the safety of the game is critical, and several weeks of the game basics, drills through stations will be the focus before the girls will be ready for any intra-league scrimmages, outside the program games and any play dates. Last year, the 1 / 2 girls were able to participate in 2 outside the program games, a big play date "tournament" in Wissahickon, PA and several games against the other URA 1 / 2 teams. All gameplay at this level is not played with a goalie and is seven vs. seven (two homes, two wings, a center and two points). A great introduction program for first and second graders.

Cost $125.00

3 / 4 Program

Our 3 / 4 Program as with all of our programs, continues to build on the foundation and the basic skills of the womens lacrosse game. Teams are more independent then they are at the 1 / 2 Program and have games, typically, every Saturday. Games are traditionally split between outside programs and playing against other URA 3 / 4 Program teams. Last year, many of our 3 / 4 program participants also got to play in the Gumball Rally Tournament near the end of the season - played under the lights in the King of Prussia area. Practices have been held at the Upland Day School Facilities on the lower athletic fields just past the New Bolton Center off Byrd Road in Kennett Square. Practice times may vary a bit depending on the coaches but the days will, most likely, stay on Monday and Wednesday each week. Practices during the week are typically 1.25 to 1.5 hours.

Cost $150.00

5 / 6 Program

Our 5 / 6 Program begins the program division based on PAGLA's "A", "B" and "C" system. We do have girls play at this level that have never played before - so please note that if you daughter has not played the game before, that is fine! Games are typically every Saturday but an ocassional week night game may need to be played if there a make up game due to weather or other reasons. Practices have been on the Unionville Middle or High School fields during the week and run approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the coach and level of team.

Cost $150.00 + applicable uniform costs (jersey & kilt required for 5th grade)

7 / 8 Program

Based on the 5 / 6 Program & PAGLA "A", "B" and "C" system. Games are typically played on Saturday but once again, there may be a need for a week night game. Practices for this group will vary depending on the coach and level of the team. Practices have been on the Unionville Middle School or High School fields during the week and run approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

Cost $150.00 + applicable uniform costs (jersey & kilt if needed)

Team Assignments

Although we do not take requests, during team formation we do take into consideration grouping children outside the immediate Unionville / Kennett Square area on the same team for carpooling reasons.  If your family lives inside of the Unionville or Kennett Square School, please do not submit team or grouping requests for your player.

With all of our programs, once teams have been finalized in February, coaches will contact you regarding practice times and locations. The coach will also be responsible for maintaining good contact information so that game times, locations, practice changes due to weather or field conditions etc, can be communicated with you each week. Please make sure that if any contact information changes from what was in the original registration information, to contact your coach(es) and let them know so you do not miss any important information. Follow us on Twitter (top right corner of the webpage) to get breaking alerts as well.

Uniforms for all groups first grade through eighth, maintenance contributions and fees for field usage, equipment charges, insurance, paint, official fee amoung other costs account for our program fees. Additionally, if you pay be credit card, due to the increase in credit card processing charges, there is a $10.00 additional fee on top of the standard season registration fee.
